Description
Jameson Whiskey was established in 1780, when John Jameson started Bow Street Distillery in Dublin, Ireland. Jameson was one of the 6 original Dublin Whiskeys but is now distilled in Cork, although vatting takes place in Dublin. Jameson is the most popular Irish Whiskey in the world that is made from a mixture of malted and unmalted Irish barley. All of the barley is produced within 50 miles of the Cork distillery. The barley is dried in a closed kiln, using clean-burning anthracite coal, which helps preserve flavor.
Like most Irish whiskey, Jameson is distilled three times for smoothness, which ensures no one flavor overpowers another. This creates a sweet tasting whiskey.
